The organisation of The Museum of Copenhagen.A museum undergoing change

In recent years, the Museum of Copenhagen has undergone massive development and change. The Cityring metro has played a central role in bringing this about, as the archaeological responsibilities involved in preparing for the metro have led to growth within the musem alongside the recruitment of new staff members with new competencies and specialised skills.

Three sections

Both the museum's areas of responsibility and staff are defined by an organisational structure comprising three sections situated around the museum director - Administration, Antiquarian and Communications.

The museum director bears the overall and strategic responsibility in relation to the authorities, national and international collaborators, finances, administrative and resource-management. Finally the museum director is also responsible for the various museum work areas, i.e. research, collections and communication.
