The Nørrebro Project

Our current outreach project does more than merely reach out and extend a polite "thank you" to its target group. The Museum of Copenhagen has hired 11 youngsters from Nørrebro to collect, and create, new materials for the museum.

Cooperation with youngsters from Nørrebro

One of our ambitions here at the Museum of Copenhagen is to create a dialogue with potential target audiences who do not normally experience the Museum of Copenhagen as being a relevant institution for them. Furthermore, the museum staff would like to do more than "merely" reach out to new target audiences. Instead, they would prefer to enter into a mutually binding joint-venture which is why the museum has 11 youngsters aged between 17 & 26 years on its payroll at present. Their main purpose is to collect, document and investigate which Nørrebro narratives are missing within the Museum of Copenhagen's archives. In this way, their narratives, lives and outlook on the city become a part of ours - now and in the future.

The material that has been collected in Nørrebro may be viewed on the WALL.
